5 Tips for New Entrepreneurs

Starting your journey into entrepreneurship is scary. Well, scary-exciting. Sitting on the precipice of endless possibilities, dreams, and choices can actually be a really overwhelming feeling. (Little bonus tip - it’s okay to feel that way!)

So if you’re just starting off and are feeling a little untethered or stuck, I wanted to share with you all a few things I wish I’d known when I was starting off and some lessons I learnt along the way.

Here are 5 things that will help you as a newbie entrepreneur!

//01

It Takes Time

Remember that it will not all fall into place over night. Building a business takes time. It’s probably one of the most important tips, that isn’t really a tip but more a reminder that is important to come back to. It can take years. It will probably take years. But that does not mean that there is no movement in that time, you will be constantly learning, failing, winning, growing, even when you’ve got your business off the ground. You can’t rush a good thing.

//02

Strong Relationships Are Key

10K months may sound pretty damn sweet. But they DO NOT equate with a successful business, not entirely. As an entrepreneur, especially when you’re new to the ropes, financial instability and uncertainty is a pretty big factor. And getting the money coming in is most definitely a motivator. However, building strong relationships within your industry and with your clients is paramount to the growth and sustainability of the business that you are building. Focus on people and the rest will follow.

//03

Invest in Growth

To follow on from the above tip, spending money early on as an entrepreneur can feel like an illogical step, especially when it involves spending money on training or coaches. These types of purchases can feel intangible, however they can really be a guiding light and keep you focused. You’re not alone and having people who are there to help and push you is invaluable. Also, investing in yourself and your business is an act of self-belief and respect.

//04

Distil Your Focus

The clearer you can get on what you want your business to be, the easier it will get to streamline and focus your business plana and strategy. It is easier to sell and communicate a clear message.

//05

Keep Pushing

That last tip that I have for you is DO NOT GIVE UP. Keep pushing, keep learning, keep going. Don’t be afraid to adapt and pivot. Keep pushing and believing in your self.
