10 Tips for Building a Strong FB Community

I'm kicking off 2021's blog posts talking about the how you can use Facebook to grow your community and your business!

Whether you already have a fb group up and running or haven't even considered one yet, these 10 hot tips will help you get into your niche and building an amazing online space for you, your clients, and your community.

//01

Get Niche

What is wonderful about online communities is that you can find just about anything. Get niche & be really specific about what it is that you are focusing on. My group for example is specifically for womxn entrepreneurs to learn & grow.

Talk About It

A LOT. Be an absolute broken record about it - there is no shame! Talk about it in all forms of content and on all outlets. This is also a really good exercise in making sure that all of your output is working towards a shared goal - and it means you’ll hold yourself accountable!

//03

Go Live

Going live can be a daunting task, but if practice does anything - it makes things easier! Be consistent with how and when you show up on lives. Bi-weekly or weekly lives are really manageable and that way you will ensure that you are providing a lot of value and interaction consistently.

//04

Engage People

Getting people really engaged and participating in you Facebook group will really help fostering that sense of community. Tag people, comment, ask them questions - show them that you are listening and care about what everyone has to bring to the community!

//05

Schedule Posts

Scheduling you posts is a really practical way to make sure that you keep on top of your group. It helps streamline your work, keeps you on track and all round will make your life easier in the long run.

Post Consistently

Posting 4 times a week is a really good number to aim for. 4 times increases the chances that people see the content. Just one post a week might mean that your post will get lost in peoples feeds. A nice way to get yourself and your community into a rhythm is to do things such as a Monday motivational post, a Tuesday tips post, a question or poll and then something perfect for the weekend.

Ask for feedback

Communication is key and feedback is your best friend. Reaching out and asking your community
for feedback is super important. I cannot stress this enough! What do they think of this? What do
they enjoy about your group? What do they want to see next? Where is there room for
improvement? Listen to what the people want!

Run a Free Challenge

So now that you have shown commitment to your community, give them a way to commit too! Running a free challenge is a great way of getting people involved. Mini challenges are a really exciting opportunity to show people more of yourself and what you are offering. An example could be running a 3 day challenge to implement a new morning routine, where you might go live each morning for a journaling session & meditation.

It’s not personal

If people are speaking up and getting stuck in, don’t take it personally. It can be a big deal - give
people time and cultivate a safe space, the rest will come!
